I replaced the 12 volt with a new OEM AC Delco battery. I had 7000 miles on the car, and it's roughly 3 1/2 years old. (2019 built early in the year, sat on the lot until I bought it in August 2019.) Now it holds 12.3 until it automatically shuts off after 20 minutes or so. When in doubt, just replace it.

Then disconnect the 12 volt battery. When you have the battery out and open. Replace the bad module ( not cell) and move the controller on top of the old module to the new module. Reassemble in reverse order connecting the 12 volt battery last. You might have to have a gm guy clear the codes if they are deep enough.
